What are you eating?

We put food and drink into our bodies every day. At least three meals a day and various snacks in between may be a part of your daily regimen. But many of us also digest food and drink that we really don’t need. Fast food, soda, alcohol, chips, and fried foods are not our best options. But how many of us can regularly abstain?.....………….Listen below to hear more about “What are you eating?”

Similarly, we digest external content into our minds and subconscious daily. This type of content is most commonly transmitted via your tv, smartphone, tablet, or computer. While most of us have cut the cord (cable), streaming has taken on new meaning. And much of this content we really don’t need either. Mainstream media, social media, music, and the internet all inundate us with content that can be useful, but more often than not, is full of unwanted ads, news, and shows we can do without.

As we continue to grow and evolve, however, it is important for us to pay particular attention to what we are consuming, not just physically, but mentally, spiritually, and psychologically. Research shows that what we consistently allow into our brains manifests itself in our actions and behaviors. It is time that we are intentional about what we put into our brains so that it will benefit us in both the short and long term.

You see, what we eat often has a direct correlation to our health, moods, and mental state. And it is therefore important to identify and manage what we digest on a regular basis. But if you haven't noticed by now, food consumption is not the main focus today. We’re having a mindset discussion. And it may be time for a mental shift.

Beginning today, let's be intentional about what we are digesting. And if you feel as if there is nothing good to digest, it might be time to begin to develop and create your own content. For me, this looks like affirmations that I create and recite daily that I desire to seep into my subconscious. Eventually, you will exude what you digest . . . similarly to what you eat. But we'll focus on food on another Monday.
